Chris Martin Update (June 4, 2010)
Received from Ray Martin on June 4, 2010.
OK, This one is a couple of days overdue. Some of you by now have heard the good news. Chris has been released from the Hospital. I would like to thank everyone for your prayers. Prayer does indeed work. I have personally seen one miracle after the next with Chris. This experience was definitely a Proverbs 3:5-6 thing. Trust in the Lord with all your heart!!!!

Chris Martin Update
An email from Ray Martin:
IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!!
They found a heart for Chris and they did the transplant today. The surgery went faster then expected, instead of being over at 5pm, he was out of OR around 4pm. We spoke to the surgeon and they found him a strong heart that was an excellant match for him. The surgery started around 9am this morning. Chris was still asleep when we left the hospital, but his color was good.
The Doctors were kinda surprised by this heart, it was supposed to go to someone else. At the last minute, they were unable to use the heart for it’s original purpose and instead they were able to put the heart into Chris. The doctors said it was a fluke that this happened this way. I choose to believe it was the answer to everyone’s prayer.
While Chris is not out of the woods yet, he is finally on the road to a full recovery.
Please continue to pray for him.
Thank you,
Ray Martin
Urgent Prayer Request: Chris Martin
We have been praying for Chris Martin who is awaiting a heart transplant and is staying a the hospital in San Francisco. Chris is 27 years old and the son of Ray and Christina Martin.
This morning we got word that a heart has been found and that his heart transplant surgery will take place TODAY.
Will you pray for Chris?
Prayer Request from Valerie House
Passing along a prayer request from Valerie House.
“Please add David to your prayer list and share with those you know will pray for him. This is one of my business mentor’s son.”
Summary: David was involved in a moped accident after competing for a kickboxing tournament in Thailand. He broke bones in his legs and arms.
After coming home there have been complications that are complex, but involve infection and possibly picking up a virus while overseas. His kidneys have been effected and he has also had difficulty keeping food down. There are ongoing tests at this time …
Here is an excerpt from the email we received this morning (April 7, 2010).
Prayer Requests:
Pray that he does not throw up after he wakes up from his procedure this morning- if so- it is a concern for his biopsy in his kidney- they do not want the clot to open up and develop bleeding. If so- another surgery-
Pray that his kidney will start to heal itself
Pray that his stomach issues will be healed and he can eat and drink again
Pray for his salvation
Pray for our family for continued faith- strength- and health to cope with this long term recovery.
His prognosis:
6 weeks of antibiotic IVs for his leg infection then 6 weeks of orals- that means he will need 2 ½ hour 3 times a day hooked up to IV’s- I will care for him at our home.
Maybe another leg surgery- hope not
Facial surgery to further repair his eye socket and cheek bone as he cannot correctly bite down.
Dr said he may have kidney scarring so he may not have 100% function back- We will claim that he will with God’s divine grace and healing. Thanks to all of you!

Chris Martin Update, April 6, 2010
Chris had a Doctor appointment last Thursday, April 1, 2010. During the appointment the Doctor discussed that they were concerned with his kidney function. His kidneys were not getting enought blood causing unhealthy chemicals to remain in his blood that normally is eliminated. Whatever it was they were concerned with was 3 times the normal level. I know that it starts with the letter C, but having a major senior moment typing this email.
So to say the least, They admitted Chris again to the hospital and upgraded him from Congestive Heart Failure to Advanced Heart Failure. Due to this, it looks like Chris will remain in the hospital until they do the heart transplant.
Chris is back in California Pacific Medical Center and is in room 437. His room number is 415.600.8042.

Prayer Request: for baby Sofia
Just got off the phone with Rita and Rudy Delgadillo,
Sofia was born on Thursday morning, to Samantha and Carlos Belloso on March 4 and is at Kaiser, Walnut Creek. The baby stops breathing when eating. They are doing a spinal tap to find out what’s going on.
The situation is still unfolding, but we ask all of the Central Assembly family to take some time and pray. Please watch the blog at http://RestoringHope.com for updates.
